
It will a sad news for the Deoband Alumni that the famous scholar and writer Maulana Abu Bakr Ghazipuri died today on 08/02/2012 morning in Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Office in New Delhi: inna lillah wa inna ilaihi raji'oon!
He was in Delhi to attend a meeting of Jami'at Ulama-i-Hind. He was a member of Working Committee (Majlis Aamilah) of Jami'at.
Maulana Abu Bakr Ghazipuri was about 60-70 years old. He was one of the celebrated alumni of Darul Uloom Deoband. He was closely attached with Maulana Waheeduz Zaman Kairanvi.
He was a prolific writer and author of several precious books in Arabic and Urdu. He had good command over Urdu and Arabic languages. Maulana published a reputed bimonthly magazine "ZAMZAM". He specially worked on aqeedah and maslak of Deoband. He successfully refuted the Ghair Muqallideen, the socalled Ahl Hadith.
There are news that his funeral will take place in his hometown in Ghazipur (UP).
May Allah grant him maghfirah, give him a place in Jannat-ul-Firdaus! Amen!
