The Imam al-Shurain will be visiting India in the first week of March and meanwhile he is scheduled to visit Darul Uloom Deoband and lead the Zuhar Salah on 4 March in Masjid Rasheed. Abu Ibrahim Sa'ud ibn Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ash-Shuraim An-Najdi Ph.d is one of the Imams and khateeb of the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram) in Makkah. He holds a doctorate (Ph.D) and is a Professor of Sharia and Islamic studies at the Umm al-Qura University in Makkah, and was recently appointed as a Dean and "Specialist Professor in Fiqh" at the University. He is also known as a researcher in fiqh, a judge, and a writer who has composed many books on aqeedah, fiqh, and Arabic poetry.[citation needed] Due to his position, rank, and love among Muslims, his voice has been widely recorded and is internationally distributed by various mediums. ![]() Deoband.Net It will a sad news for the Deoband Alumni that the famous scholar and writer Maulana Abu Bakr Ghazipuri died today on 08/02/2012 morning in Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Office in New Delhi: inna lillah wa inna ilaihi raji'oon! He was in Delhi to attend a meeting of Jami'at Ulama-i-Hind. He was a member of Working Committee (Majlis Aamilah) of Jami'at. Maulana Abu Bakr Ghazipuri was about 60-70 years old. He was one of the celebrated alumni of Darul Uloom Deoband. He was closely attached with Maulana Waheeduz Zaman Kairanvi. He was a prolific writer and author of several precious books in Arabic and Urdu. He had good command over Urdu and Arabic languages. Maulana published a reputed bimonthly magazine "ZAMZAM". He specially worked on aqeedah and maslak of Deoband. He successfully refuted the Ghair Muqallideen, the socalled Ahl Hadith. There are news that his funeral will take place in his hometown in Ghazipur (UP). May Allah grant him maghfirah, give him a place in Jannat-ul-Firdaus! Amen! ![]() Deoband.Net Tonight on 07/02/2012 (14/Rabi-ul-Awwal 1433), Hadhrat Maulana Khursheed Alam sb, Shaikhul Hadith Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband died in Deoband. انا للہ وانا الیہ راجعون He was in his late seventies. He breathed his last in Deoband at his home in the night of 07/02/2012, Tue. He was the noble son of Hadhrat Maulana Zahoor Ahmad sb (d. 1383=1964), a senior teacher in Darul Uloom Deoband. He is closely related to Hadhrat Mufti Taqi Usmani as well. His two sons Maulana Muhammad Arif sb and Qari Muhammad Wasif sb are also teaching in Darul Uloom Waqf. Maulana Khursheed Alam sb was also appointed as teacher in Darul Uloom in 1964 and he continues to teach till his last days. He was the one of the oldest teachers of Darul Uloom Deoband and teacher of most of the alumni of Darul Uloom, specially those who studied before the upheaval of 1981 and the aftermath partition of Darul Uloom. He joined Darul Uloom Waqf in 1982. He was teaching Bukhari and Muslim as well as headed the Darul Ifta Department in Darul Uloom Waqf. His Janazah Salah shall be offered in Darul Uloom after Zuhr on 07/02/2012 and he will be buried in Qasmi Graveyard.
