Maulana Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani, a Member of Majlis Shura (Exsecutive Body) of Darul Uloom Deoband was selected as new Acting Mohtamim of Darul Uloom Deoband following the sad demise of Maulana Marghoobur Rahman, Mohtamim (VC / Rector) of Darul Uloom Deoband. This decision was taken by 6 Majlis members who met in Deoband on 09/12/2010 Thu and appointed Maulana Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani as Acting Mohtamim till the next Majlis Shura meeting which is scheduled to be held on 11/01/2011. The present Majlis members consulted the other absent members on phone and then reached to this decision. Maulana Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani is well-known scholar of hadith, Mufti, orator and Shaikhul Hadith of Jamia Islamia in Varansi UP.
