Maulana Zainul Abideen Azmi, senior Professor of Hadith in Jamia Mazahir Uloom Saharanpur died today in Mau today on 28/04/2013 Sunday in the afternoon.
Maulana Zainul Abideen Azmi was a famous scholar of Hadith, researcher, critic and writer. He specialized in the field of Hadith studies and was considered a reference.
Maulana Azmi belonged to Pura Maroof in Dist Mau (UP). He completed his education from Deoband and was a disciple of Shaikhul Islam Hadgrat Maulana Hussain Ahamd Madani.
His Janazah Salah shall be offered in Pura Maroof afte Isha.
May Allah shower His special mercy upon him and give sabr to his family and near ones!

Darul Uloom Deoband VC (Mohtamim), Maulana Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani is on a visit to Turkey for participating in an International Seminar on "IJMA and Collective Conscience" in Istanbul Turkey.
Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani Was to address in the opening session which will addressed by various internationally recognized Ulama and leaders.
Mohtamim sb was accompanied by two teachers from Darul Uloom: Maulana Muhammad Salman Bijnori and Maulana Muhamamd Arif Azmi.

Mumbai/Deoband 16 April 2013 Markazul Ma'arif Education & Research Centre (MMERC), Mumbai declares entrance test dates for the batch-20013-2015 for Diploma in English Language and Literature (DELL) course for all its 5 centres across India. Maulana M. Burhanuddin Qasmi, Director of MMERC, Mumbai described in a press statement that the combined entrance test will be for total 90 seats -30 in MMERC, Mumbai, 20 in Institute for Higher Studies, New Delhi, 15 in Markaz-e Islami Education & Research Centre, Ankleashwar, Gujarat, 15 in Al-Ma'hadul Imam Shah Waliullah Education & Research Centre, New Delhi and 10 in Jamia Jalalia, Hojai, Assam. The written and oral test is to be conducted on 30 & 31 May 2013 at Jamiatus Shaikh Hussian Ahmad Madni, Deoband. MMERC, a sister concern of Assam based Markazul Ma'arif (NGO) was established in Delhi in 1994 by Maulana Badruddin Ajmal and later shifted to Mumbai in 1998. Basking in the glory of success MMERC enters in the nineteenth year of its novel concept in the academia- to teach English language with other modern subjects of the age to the fresh Ulama- the Madrasa graduates. It introduced a two-year course, 'Diploma in English Language and Literature' (DELL) first time in the world to educate the Ulama in a completely new environment and equip them with subjects hitherto unknown to them such as English language, Computer & Internet, Comparative study of religions, History, basic of Geography, Mathematics, Political science and other general sciences. MMERC renders educational services for free. It also provides the students with basic amenities of like lodging, food and etc. In addition to its own trained teaching faculties the institution hires the services of the accomplished visiting faculties for the above-mentioned subjects. The institution aims at helping the students to demonstrate their skilful articulation of thoughts and presentations about their religion- Islam and to boost their confidence to face the challenges of the modern world and ultimately serve the nation with respect. Having the degree of Alimiat or Fazilat from any popular Madrasa of India one is entitled to sit in the combined entrance exams for DELL in all the centers to make it to the final list, said Qasmi. Maulana Nomani said, in 1803 a fatwa was circulated to the Madrasa students for Jihad to attain independence. He continued that through Madrasa education Darul Uloom has always inspired the country against communalism.
Maulana Nomani also stated the sacrifice of Muslim in India. He elaborated on the contribution of a Darul Uloom Deoband graduate and member of Executive Council Majlish e Sura Maulana Hifzur Rahman, one of the important members of Indian Constitution making Committee.
Teacher of the Darul Uloom Deoband and All India Secretary of Rabita-E Madaris-E Islamia Arabia Maulana Saukat Ali said, the intention of the government affiliation to the religious madrasa is a conspiracy against Islam that end up following Jews policy. He added that he sees no contradiction between Islam and modern education. Former Professor of Aliah University of Kolkata Maulana Manzoor Alam, himself an alumni of Darul Uloom, appreciated the immense contribution of madrasa in spreading Islamic teachings.

More than 50000 Muslims attended the conference, although organsiers claimed the participation of over a lakh.
Maulana Siddiqullah emphasized on the importance of knowledge in Islam, when the first revealed word was iqra (read). He added that a madrasa educated Maulana Abul Kalam Azad went on to become the first education Minister after Independence.
He elaborated on how without much support from the government many madrasas in West Bengal are teaching English, Mathematics, Geography etc. as well. Under the guidance Rabita-E Madaris-e-Islamia Arabia of Deoband in West Bengal about 10 thousand Maktab and 800 Madrasa are running.

The delegation arrived Deoband in the evening and addressed a gathering of Ulama and students who gathered to welcome them in Jama Rashid of Darul Uloom Deoband.

Darul Uloom Deoband published the English version of Silk Letter Movement compiled by Hadhrat Maulana Muhammad Miyan Deobandi. The book was translated into English by Maulana Muhammadullah Qasmi and published in association with Manak Publications New Delhi.
The book ‘Silk Letter Movement’ is a historical description of the heroic struggle waged by the Muslim scholars of Deoband (between 1913 to 1920) for the freedom of India. It aimed at overthrowing the British rule from India by allying with Ottoman Turkey, Imperial Germany and Afghanistan. The movement was named after the ‘Silk Letters’ from Maulana Obaidullah Sindhi captured by Punjab CID. This book is based on the British India records of ‘Silken Handkerchief Letters Conspiracy Case’ which are now preserved in India Office London.
The book opens with an introduction to the Revolutionary Movement of Shaikhul Hind Maulana Mahmood Hasan Deobandi who was the real leader of this movement. Author
Maulana Muhammad Miyan Deobandi (1903-1975) was a leading Islamic scholar, historian, author and freedom fighter from Deoband. He served as General Secretary to Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind and was an active member of its Working Committee, as he was member of Darul Uloom Deoband’s Majlis Shura (Governing Council). He authored scores of books on various topics especially Indian Muslim history. He also served as Mufti and Shaikhul Hadith of Madrasa Ameenia Delhi. His book ‘Aseeran-e-Malta’ was rendered into English as ‘Prisoners of Malta’.

Muhammadullah Qasmi, (born in Hanswar, Faizabad, now Ambedkar Nagar UP India in 1979) graduated in 1998 and completed Islamic Jurisprudence (Mufti) course from Darul Uloom Deoband. He started his career at Markazul Maarif Education and Research Centre (MMERC), Mumbai in 2002 as a Research Fellow and Online Mufti. Presently, he is working as Editor Darul Ifta website and Coordinator in Internet Dept of Darul Uloom Deoband. His book Madrasa Education: Its Strength and Weakness published in 2005 was one of the pioneering works on the topic.
