21 July 2012 Saturday was the first day of the Holy month of Ramadhan in India. The moonsighting was not common, therefore the Hilal committees in different parts of the country concluded late night that the moonsighting was confirmed in some parts of the country like Mysore, Bangalore, Bihar etc.
Darul Uloom Deoband announced the beginning of Ramadan around 11 pm after confirmation from different sources. Likewise, The Amarat Shariah Patna, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Delhi also announced that moonsigting was confirmed and thus 21 July 2012 Saturday will be the first day of Ramadhan.
May Allah grant us taufiq to spend the Ramadan days and nights the way He pleases! May Allah accept our aamaal and make them sources of our success and deliverance! Amen!

The wife of former Mohtamim of Darul Uloom Deoband, Maulana Marghoobur Rahman passed away in Bijnor on 10 July 2012 = 19 Shaban 1433 Tuesday. She was ailing since long and was 95.
She was the mother of Maulana Anwarur Rahman who is now a member of Majlis Shura (Governing Body) of Darul Uloom Deoband.
Her Janazah Salah was offered in Bijnor. May Allah have mercy on her and grant her Jannat al-Firdaous, Amen!

The wife of Shaikhul Islam Hadhrat Maulana Hussain Ahmad Madani (1879-1957) passed away in Deoband on 05 July 2012 = 14 Shaban 1433 Thursday. She was nearly 100 year old as his year of birth is 1333 Hijri.
She was called 'Aapa Jan' in the inner circle. She is the mother of Maulana Arshad Madani and Maulana Asjad Madani.
She was widowed at the death of Hadhrat Shaikhul Islam Maulana Madani in 1857. She was from the well-known Saadat family of Tanda, Dist Faizabad (now Ambedkar Nagar) UP.
Her Janazah Salah was offered in Darul Uloom and it was led by his noble son Maulana Arshad Madani. She was laid to rest in Qasmi graveyard. May Allah shower His abundant mercy on her and grant her soul eternal peace in Jannat al-Firdaous!
